These terms apply when a parent or carer requests private tutoring from Damian Lake. Please read them before sending a booking request.

Booking requests

Sending the online form creates a pending request, not a confirmed booking. A lesson is booked only when Damian Lake confirms the date, time, format and price. The agreement is between Damian Lake Tutoring and the parent, carer or other adult who makes the booking.

Please provide accurate information and tell Damian Lake as soon as possible if anything relevant to the lesson changes. Do not use the booking form for urgent medical or safeguarding matters.

Lessons and payment

The lesson length, delivery format and price are shown when the request is made and are confirmed before the lesson. Payment timing and method are currently arranged directly with Damian Lake. This website does not take online payments.

Tutoring will be provided with reasonable care and skill, but a particular academic result, grade or examination outcome cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellation and rescheduling

A confirmed lesson may be cancelled or moved without charge when Damian Lake receives at least 24 hours' notice before its scheduled start. A replacement time is subject to availability.

If less than 24 hours' notice can be given, please contact Damian Lake as soon as possible. These terms do not impose an automatic late-cancellation or non-attendance charge. Any payment that could apply must have been clearly explained and agreed before the affected lesson.

If Damian Lake has to cancel, the lesson will be rearranged to a mutually suitable time or any payment already made for that lesson will be refunded.

Statutory cancellation rights

These terms do not restrict any rights provided by UK consumer law. Where a tutoring agreement is made at a distance, a statutory 14-day cancellation period may apply. If a lesson is due to take place during that period, Damian Lake will ask the customer to confirm that they want the service to start early. Any statutory right that is more favourable than the 24-hour policy takes priority.

To cancel, send a clear statement using the contact details below. You may write: “I give notice that I wish to cancel my tutoring agreement” and include the booking name, lesson date, booking reference if available, and the date of the notice.

Changes to these terms

Updated terms apply to future bookings. A change will not alter an already confirmed lesson unless both parties agree to it.
